Mayor’s Message

Dear Residents & Friends of Bellmawr:

As Mayor of Bellmawr I am extremely fortunate and thankful for the opportunity to serve all residents of our community as a partnership vs partisanship. Bellmawr is lucky to have one of the best Police, Fire, EMS, DPW, Municipal Staff and School System in South Jersey as acknowledged by South Jersey Magazine.
Bellmawr, while continuing to face obstacles with traffic, has been working diligently with the NJDOT to finalize the missing moves project and now addressing the Black Horse Pike at Turnpike Exit 3. Additionally, it is our hope that the Browning Road/Black Horse Pike corner will have DEP approval shortly to have that property sold for a thriving business.

Finally, there is light at the end of the tunnel after nearly fifteen years with one of the
largest redevelopment projects occurring in 2026 with the project on Creek Road with
all necessary hurdles addressed. We look forward to a beautiful waterfront park and
the redeveloper starting construction this spring.

Several new businesses have chosen Bellmawr as their home this year including Flashy Bubble (pet grooming), Advanced Care Pharmacy, Bellmawr Snack & Tobacco, Novo Tire & Mechanic, and Crown Chicken.

A grant for the all inclusive playground additions at Sauter Park enable children of all abilities access with their peers to enjoy the playground. We have also received a grant for enhanced LED lighting at our Borough Recreation and Park Facilities for better safety.

There are big goals for this year as we will celebrate our Centennial (1926-2026). We have been planning for monthly celebrations with our major celebration in the summer of 2026. Further highlights will be addressed in our quarterly bulletins.
We must acknowledge the community’s 100-year history, thanking those who contributed to Bellmawr’s foundation and growth. Use this milestone to inspire the current generation to “pay it forward” for the next 100 years. It is the goal of both Mayor and Council to emphasize the unique spirit of Bellmawr, focusing on values like compassion, kindness, inclusion and perseverance that have endured over these past 100 years. Bellmawr residents must continue to preserve their “neighborly ways always there to lend a helping hand”. We must highlight our successes but always being proactive for our future.

Finally, we must challenge each other to think about the legacy we want to leave behind while embracing 2026 as a starting point and fresh beginning with an opportunity to strive for better using the past experience as tools for future success. Progress requires everyone working together, turning to each other for support, and not turning on each other. Our next 100 years starts here. It’s impossible to imagine Bellmawr at 200, but the journey begins now, with the choices we make and the values we uphold.

Yours in Service,

Charles J Sauter III SignatureCharles J. Sauter, III
